The land which surrounds the existing Magnox nuclear power station at Wylfa was listed in the Government's National Policy Statement on nuclear development (NPS) in June 2011 as being deemed suitable for nuclear development ("the Proposed Development Site"). Horizon Nuclear Power is now proposing to build two new Nuclear Reactors adjacent to the existing Wylfa Site (Wylfa Newydd). The estimated timeline for this is that electricity will start being produced 2024/2025. North Wales Police require advice with regard to the negotiation of any Performance Planning Agreement, Section 106 agreement, Community Impact Levy or any other legislative tool which may be required to ensure that any additional policing costs associated with the Consultation, Planning, Construction and ongoing Operation of the new nuclear power plant and associated developments are provided for.
