By participating in this engagement, businesses can align their services with NHS requirements, potentially leading to long-term partnerships within the healthcare sector. ## Notice NHS Arden & Greater East Midlands Commissioning Support Unit (AGCSU) on behalf of the commissioners, NHS Coventry and Rugby CCG, would like to invite providers to attend a Market Engagement Event which will inform the market of the Trust's intentions to procure a partner to Summarise Patient Care Records across the CCG's General Practitioner sites (up to 74 practices and up to 500,000 records) The purpose of the summary is to enable the GP registrar or FY2 doctor, with no prior knowledge of the patient, to quickly and easily access the patient's significant and relevant medical history and make use of this, if appropriate, during the consultation. This means that the summary should be: * Accurate * Up to date * Easily accessed * Uncluttered Summarising can be done by doctors, practice nurses, other professions allied to clinical medicine, medical students, or other suitably trained, supervised staff. The organisation(s) wishing to provide this service must: 1. Have a process plan to recruit and train summarisers. This will include job descriptions for the trainer and the summarisers. The process must take account of / include: a. fully trained summarisers. Summarisers must be trained to recognise the importance of the facts they are deriving from the records and to understand the choice of codes potentially available to describe a particular clinical entity. Staff must be trained by those with previous summarising experience. b. summarisers should not work more than six hours per day. Summarising requires intense concentration and attention to detail and long hours make it hard to sustain the correct level of accuracy. For full time posts breaks will need to be factored in. c. on-site access to medical records and the practice computer. It is not appropriate to take records off site. Summarisers must have a terminal each for the whole time they are working. They cannot deliver the project on time unless they also have desk and workspace and a relatively quiet place to work, preferably in a dedicated room. d. confidentiality. All summarisers should sign a confidentiality clause with the contracted organisation and each practice that they are working in, breach of which will lead to automatic dismissal. e. supervision of the summarising process. This should be carried out by a named supervisor to maintain standards and answer queries. The Market Engagement Event will take place 9.30am - 11.00am, Wednesday 5th April 2017 in Coventry and Rugby (Venue to be confirmed). Further details and an agenda will be sent to you in due course. The Market Engagement Event will present: * an overview of the service to be provided * details of the anticipated contract type, length and particular conditions * an overview of the procurement process and the anticipated timeline * an opportunity for you to ask questions and feedback on the presentations.
