The Act requires public bodies to have due regard to economic, social and environmental wellbeing, in connection with public service contracts. The objectives in summary are: * To provide meaningful social roles for children, parents and older adults, meeting Social Values. * To encourage older adults to utilise their experience and skills, meeting Social Values. * Improve children's social and emotional development, meeting Social Values. * Help forge strong school/parent partnerships, meeting Social Values. * Boost children's listening and attention, receptive language and social communication, meeting Social Values. * Improve general school readiness for younger people, meeting Social Values. * The transmission of knowledge and skills from one generation to another, meeting Social Values. * Empower older adults to take an active part in their local community, meeting Social Values. * Improve community cohesion and mutual respect with older members engaging with younger members of their community, meeting Social Values. * Prevent loneliness, meeting Social Values.
