NNL's vision for such a solution is a system whereby an immutable datastore, built upon DLT, can be transmitted with modelling data and contain a secure history of how the data within the companion model has been built on and developed over time. This would include information about the fundamental nuclear data that has been used within the model, and the relevant assumptions and limitations that are inherently built into this. Then, each layer of a model would add information about the assumptions and limitations that have been added at each stage of a model's life, to enable end users of models to take a deep dive into the technical underpinning of a model, and critically evaluate its validity.
