## Summary

The Staffordshire County Council is currently in the planning stage of procuring the "IA1875 Carers Home and Community Respite Service," an initiative aimed at recommissioning respite services for carers. This procurement process is set to gather feedback from interested providers to shape the future provision, with a crucial engagement end date of 15th August 2019. The service will cater to the geographical area of Staffordshire, excluding Stoke on Trent, with an estimated annual budget of up to £425,000 and a contract start date anticipated for 1st April 2020. Interested parties can contact Vikki Stevens at Staffordshire Place, Stafford for more information.

This tender represents a significant opportunity for businesses, particularly small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations, capable of providing social work and related services. Providers with domiciliary care registration from the Care Quality Commission (CQC) are particularly well-suited to compete, as personal care may be required. Engaging in this market engagement process not only allows businesses to influence the service model but also positions them strategically to secure future contracts within the growing social care sector.

## Notice

Market Engagement/Soft Market Testing For the avoidance of doubt this is not a Call for Competition this is to initiate a Market Engagement/Soft Market Testing process. Staffordshire County Council and Partners are seeking to recommission the current Carers Home/Community Based Respite provision which will expire on the 31st March 2020. The purpose of the service is to provide relief to carers in their own home, usually on a regular basis as part of a planned service package. The service is delivered to the person being cared for, though it is intended to provide respite to the carer. The service may be provided in the home or within the wider community. The service may be delivered in the presence of the carer, if this is the assessed need. Personal care may be required, hence there is a requirement for submissions from providers who hold domiciliary care registration with the CQC. Carers must meet eligibility criteria to receive the service. However, the service is delivered to the cared for person The objective is to provide the best possible support in accordance with the lifestyle and wishes of each individual Cared for person, incorporating a person-centred, asset-based approach to service delivery. This is an opportunity for you, as a Provider to have your say and return your suggestions on how the market would look at delivering the service in the most effective and efficient way. To start the market engagement process, initially we are looking to obtain feedback from interested providers, who are keen to help shape the model and future provision.
