## Notice

We plan to issue new benchmarking report cards to all maintained schools and academies using the new financial data as it becomes available (2020-21 and 2021-22 for maintained schools and academies). The intention of doing so is to maintain the momentum for benchmarking among schools and to act as a prompt for schools to visit the benchmarking website. The use of benchmarking helps schools inform their spending decisions and make sure that resources are put to their best possible use. The Department supports that by providing the schools benchmarking service on GOV.UK, which allows schools to consider if, where and how spending changes could be made to support pupil progress within the available level of resource. The benchmarking website is a key element of the Department's School Resource Management (SRM) programme, one of the Secretary of State's priorities. It is endorsed by the Secretary of State.
