## Summary

The Greater Manchester Combined Authority, specifically Greater Manchester Police, is conducting a tender for the "National Framework For The Provision And Monitoring Of Temporary Alarms." This framework aims to establish a two-year agreement, with an option to extend for two additional years, to provide comprehensive temporary alarm systems designed to protect vulnerable witnesses in high-risk situations. The tender is classified under the security, fire-fighting, police and defence equipment category and has a minimum contract value of £5 million, with an end date for submissions of 21 September 2020. The delivery of services must be available 24 hours a day, all year round, across various UK locations, including British Overseas Territories and the Channel Islands.

This procurement presents significant growth opportunities for businesses specialising in security systems, particularly those that can offer complete services encompassing supply, installation, monitoring, maintenance, and removal of temporary alarm systems. Companies involved in innovative security solutions, especially those familiar with GSM technology, will be well-positioned to compete. As the framework will be accessible to multiple police forces and local authorities across the UK, suppliers that can scale their services while maintaining consistent quality will stand to benefit most from this collaborative initiative.

## Notice

The Framework is being established for a 2 year period, with the option to extend up to a further 2 years, on an annual basis. The alarms are to be installed as a short term measure for recent victims of crime, premises that have been identified as having a temporary high risk, victims of domestic violence, in witness protection programs, and other circumstances as requested. The alarms are to be wire free (in rare cases hardwire). Accessories include passive infrared indicators and personal attack pendants. There is an increasing trend and requirement for GSM systems.
