This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses, especially small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary and community sector enterprises (VCSEs) involved in educational services or human resources consulting. Companies that can offer innovative flexible working solutions in the education sector would be well-suited to compete. By engaging with this contract, businesses can contribute to improving retention rates of teachers in schools, thus creating a positive impact while driving their growth in the education market.

## Notice

Flexible working policies can help to recruit, retain and motivate teachers and can play a central role in helping schools to deploy their staff effectively and efficiently. However, there are a number of practical challenges to address (e.g. managing staffing arrangements, timetabling and developing coherent whole-school policies and approaches). In the 2019 Recruitment and Retention strategy we committed to support headteachers to adapt to changing demands by helping to transform approaches to flexible working in schools. As part of that commitment we are introducing Flexible Working Ambassador Schools (FWAS). FWAS will support schools to offer more flexible working opportunities, which in turn can improve retention rates.
