## Summary

The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) is conducting a tender titled "What Works to Prevent Violence: Impact at Scale Research and Evaluation Component." This procurement falls under the category of foreign economic-aid-related services and is set to take place in the United Kingdom. The tender is currently in the active stage and is open until 29th September 2021 at 14:00 BST. The total budget for this initiative is £15.9 million, aimed at strengthening violence prevention programmes and enhancing the evidence base regarding violence against women and girls (VAWG). The contract period is expected to commence on 1st April 2022 and will last until 1st April 2029.

This tender presents substantial opportunities for organisations specialising in research, evaluation, and programme management, particularly those focused on social issues and violence prevention. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs) are encouraged to participate in this competitive process, given their capacity to offer innovative approaches and local insights. This initiative not only allows businesses to contribute to a vital social cause but also positions them to potentially secure significant funding through the long-term contract with FCDO.

## Notice

The What Works to Prevent Violence - Impact at Scale Programme will build on the success of its predecessor ('What Works I' ) to prevent and contribute to eliminating violence against women and girls through: * Systematically designing, implementing and rigorously evaluating a range of approaches to scaling up violence prevention efforts, translating proof-of-concept evidence into robust, large-scale programmes; * Designing, piloting and testing new theory-driven violence prevention approaches (innovation); * Strengthening long-term capability and capacity to deliver cutting-edge violence prevention programmes across the programme's grantees, the UK Government (principally FCDO), and developing country governments; and * Using evidence to influence a more effective global response to end VAWG. FCDO requires the services of a Supplier to lead and manage a research programme consortium (RPC) which will deliver a strategic and coherent portfolio of research and evaluation. This research programme will improve our understanding of patterns and trends in the prevalence and drivers of violence against women and girls (VAWG), including its relationship to violence against children (VAC); and broaden and deepen the evidence base on what works, under what circumstances and for whom in programmatic interventions to prevent such violence. This programme of research and evaluation will have a value of up to PS15.9 million and contributes one component of the overall programme as outlined in the Business Case.
