## Summary

The University of Birmingham is conducting a procurement process for the supply of a quantum stabilisation platform intended for the motion control of quantum gravimeter systems. This tender, identified as SC8590/20, falls under the goods category, specifically within the computer control system industry. The bidding period ended on 11th September 2020, with the contract expected to commence on 4th November 2020 and run until 31st August 2021. The overall budget for this contract is capped at £300,000, excluding VAT, which includes delivery, training, manuals, and warranties, with funding potentially supported by the European Regional Development Fund or equivalent bodies.

This procurement presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in advanced technology and quantum systems, particularly those that can provide innovative solutions in motion control and vibration isolation techniques. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with expertise in research and development, especially in areas relating to computer control systems, may find this tender particularly suited to their capabilities. Competing firms should demonstrate their ability to support the University of Birmingham's objectives with strong project proposals and relevant experience in similar projects within the research and academic sectors.

## Notice

The University of Birmingham invited tenders for supply of a quantum stabilisation platform for the motion control of quantum gravimeter systems. The stabilisation platform workstation will form part of a physical demonstrator, i.e. facilities created as part of the Quantum Technologies Hub - the EPSRC funded project. This will be used to ensure vertical alignment of an atom interferometer quantum sensor during mobile operation & provide vibration isolation so that the sensor doesn't exceed its dynamic range. The equipment is an essential integral part of the sensor suite to be used in the real-world map-matching activity. The requested equipment will be integrated into the field-capable gravity gradiometer. Overall budget for this item is up to PS300,000.00 excluding VAT, including delivery to the University of Birmingham, training and manuals and warranties over the length of the Quantum Technologies Hub grant i.e. 30th November 2024.
