This contract, titled "Provision of Audit for Drivers Medical," was awarded to Forvis Mazars LLP, following a call-off from a framework agreement. Classified under the industry category of auditing services, the contract seeks to enhance efficiency and customer experience within the DVLA's Drivers Medical department. The total contract value is £56,000 GBP, and it spans from 7th April 2025 to 6th October 2025. This tender provides significant opportunities for growth, particularly for businesses specialising in auditing services looking to expand their public sector clientele. While the contract was awarded to a large scale supplier, the procurement method indicates potential opportunities for SMEs in similar future tenders as the DVLA is open to engaging smaller and medium enterprises. Businesses with expertise in efficiency audits and enhancing organisational processes, particularly those that focus on improving customer-oriented services, would find themselves well-suited to compete for such tenders. This presents a strategic opportunity to showcase capabilities within the public sector domain, helping to build a reputable profile in governmental contracts.

## Notice

Cabinet Office's Public Bodies Review Programme recently undertook a review of DVLA to assess: - the effectiveness of DVLA's functions and structures - its performance and governance - its accountability to customers, the department and Parliament - its capacity to deliver more efficiently, including identifying efficiency savings Following the review a report was published on 7 November 2024. Within, there was a recommendation for the DVLA Board to sponsor a targeted audit of the efficiency and efficacy of the existing Drivers Medical department (DM) processes to identify any potential for immediate customer-focused improvements. Once the audit is complete the findings are to be reported back to DVLA Executive and Non-Executive Boards in the form of a written report. The objective of the review is to ensure the existing DM process is as efficient as possible and to improve the customer experience.
