## Summary

The Central Bedfordshire Council is conducting a tender for the construction of the M1/A6 Link Road, a strategically significant project aimed at enhancing connectivity just north of Luton. This includes the development of both dual and single carriageway link roads, various roundabouts, and multiple structures such as overbridges. The procurement process is currently at the planning stage, with a deadline for the submission of the Stand Selection Questionnaire (SSQ) set for 12 noon on 16th September 2019. Following this, the Invitation to Tender (ITT) for successful bidders is expected to be published between 30th September and 7th October 2019. The tender falls under the main procurement category of works and adopts a selective procurement method, specifically the OJEU Restricted procedure.

This tender provides a prime opportunity for businesses involved in large-scale road construction and infrastructure development. Companies that specialise in civil engineering, transportation projects, and related fields will find this an advantageous bidding situation, especially those capable of meeting the mandatory requirement of £155 million Public Liability Insurance. This project not only promises considerable economic growth for the region but also allows participating contractors to showcase their capabilities in handling complex and large-scale infrastructure developments.
