It continues to be owned and operated by Appleby Town Council - the Council offices and Council Chamber are on the first floor. The building also houses the Tourist Information Centre (TIC) and a retail unit. The project comprises re-rendering, roofing and window repairs together with internal plastering and joinery works. The main element of this project is anticipated to be the removal of the failing cementitious render and its replacement with a lime rough cast, along with other urgent works to bring the building back into a state of good, sustainable repair.
