## Summary

The Science Museum Group is currently seeking a creative design team for the “Sound Season - design contract” project, which falls under the museum-exhibition services industry category. The procurement process is at the award stage, having completed the tender period which ended on 4th November 2019. The contract, valued at £45,000 with a minimum value of £43,190, is scheduled to commence on 13th November 2019 and will run until 16th July 2020, with delivery expected in Bradford, Yorkshire and the Humber region.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in design and exhibition services, particularly for small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Companies capable of creative conceptualisation and collaboration with fit-out and graphics production teams would find this project especially suited to their skill sets. Engaging in this procurement process could enhance their portfolio, foster new partnerships, and contribute to business growth in the cultural and exhibition sectors.

## Notice

We are looking for a creative design team to work with the museum project team to bring this exhibition project to life. We would expect the designers to initially spend time with the content team to absorb the details of the exhibition. We would then look to the design team to distil this vision into a concept design covering all nominated spaces. Once approved by the NSMM senior managers, this concept is to be developed into a detailed design showing clearly how the concept ideas will map onto the practical detailing of our gallery spaces. Once this detailed version of the exhibition has been approved, then all elements will need to be art-worked to a production level ready to be sent to a graphics production house. We would expect the designer to work with the graphics company to ensure that all elements are produced to specification and to schedule. We would also expect the designers to oversee the installation of the graphics within the exhibition galleries. In addition to works on the graphics, we would expect the designers to collaborate with the fit-out company to ensure that their vision of the exhibition build is successfully translated into affordable build plans.
