## Summary

Northumbria University is seeking expressions of interest for the installation of a solar photovoltaic (PV) array on the roof of the Northumberland Building located on City Campus in Newcastle upon Tyne (NE1 8ST). The project, identified as tender BIP406113197, aims for an installation capacity of approximately 80kW with an estimated project cost of £100,000 and a minimum contract value of £50,000. Interested parties must submit case studies demonstrating relevant experience by noon on 25th June 2019, with the tender anticipated to be issued by 28th June 2019 and project completion expected by 30th October 2019. This procurement process uses an open procedure methodology and falls under the category of works, specifically in the renewable energy sector.

This opportunity presents significant business growth potential, particularly for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) specialising in solar energy installation. Companies with experience in similar projects, especially those involving educational facilities, would be well-suited to respond. Successful candidates can contribute to the sustainable energy goals of Northumbria University while enhancing their portfolio in the green technology sector. Interested businesses should ensure they register on Delta's e-tendering platform to participate in the tendering process.

## Notice

Northumbria University are seeking expressions of interest for a project to install a large solar PV array on the roof of Northumberland Building on City Campus Newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 8ST (please refer to aerial photograph on page 2 of the document attached to the SQ). Our estimates are that the space could accommodate an array of approximately 80kW. Our requirement is that the array should be able to payback in a period of approximately 8 years (based on costs inclusive of VAT and price of 17p/kWh for electricity). The contract would include all elements of the installation and commissioning, including structural survey. Timescales are still being examined, but we hope the tender will be issued by 28th June, with completion of the installation by 30th October 2019. Interested parties should supply two case studies of similar installations, one of which should be on an educational building. These case studies should be uploaded and submitted in response to the SQ associated with this Contracts Notice via the Universities E-tendering platform Delta by no later than 12 noon Tuesday 25th June 2019 (Delta SQ access code is 7E9X8VVM55). Post case study submissions, an internal shortlisting exercise will be undertaken by key university stakeholders to identify a suitable range of up to 6 contractors to invite to tender (ITT) on or around 28th June 2019. Those contractors will be contacted in advance of tender publication and advised of the relevant Delta ITT access code. Additional information: The contracting authority considers that this contract may be suitable for economic operators that are small or medium enterprises (SMEs). However, any selection of tenderers will be based solely on the criteria set out for the procurement.
