## Summary

Hertfordshire County Council, acting as the lead commissioner, has awarded a framework agreement for the Provision of Carers Breaks Services across Hertfordshire. This public procurement was undertaken as an open procedure within the health and social work services category (CPV code 85000000), with additional classifications covering social work and community services. The contract, valued at £14.6 million, spans from 1st May 2025 to 30th April 2027. The services focus on providing respite care for adults, supporting those who are ordinarily resident in Hertfordshire. The procurement process has been completed, with awards made to multiple providers as of 8th March 2025, and the tender period concluded on 26th June 2024.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in health and social care services, particularly those capable of delivering high-quality care and support that meets CQC standards. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are particularly suited to compete, given the scale and nature of the framework requirement. The emphasis on collaboration with a wide range of partners, including health service organisations and the voluntary sector, creates potential for networking and business development within this vital service sector. Businesses that can offer responsive, reliable services supporting carers and aid in preventing the need for more intensive care accommodations are well-positioned to benefit from this contract.
