The programme has been awarded PS4 million to develop a South London 'Internet of Things' (IoT) platform over 3 years and across council boundaries. An "Idea Proof of Concept Competition" has been opened to give the market an opportunity to present innovative IoT ideas that can be trialled through a short "proof of concept". This competition invites suppliers to provide a working example ("proof of concept") showing how IoT can be used to help people live better, healthier lives and to generate economic growth. The competition will be split into 4 categories (lots) each with a specific sector focus. Winners will be tasked to run a proof of concept deployment within one of the 5 participating boroughs.
