## Summary

The University of Nottingham has initiated an open procurement process for a compact and ultra-stable femtosecond laser, under the title "2317/RFQ/SS - Compact and Ultra-Stable Femtosecond Laser". This procurement falls within the "Lasers" industry category and targets suppliers capable of providing a fibre-coupled, vibration-robust, doubled laser suitable for non-controlled room conditions. The key dates include the tender period ending on 7th August 2024 and the contract period starting on 9th August 2024, with an expected completion by 1st December 2025. The estimated value of the contract ranges between £30,000 and £50,000, excluding VAT, and the duration includes at least a 12-month warranty period. This tender is in the "Tender" stage and located in Nottingham, East Midlands, United Kingdom.

This tender offers significant opportunities for businesses specialising in laser technology to expand their client base by supplying high-quality, value-for-money goods to a prominent educational institution. The open procurement method encourages fair competition, making it a suitable opportunity for companies that have the capability and resources to deliver such specialised equipment. Businesses with expertise in manufacturing and delivering durable laser systems, along with providing effective installation and commissioning services, would be particularly well-suited to compete for this contract. The requirement for a compact and robust laser suggests the potential for long-term business engagements given the emphasis on equipment functionality in varying room conditions, offering a promising avenue for growth and partnership development.
