Ealing has an estimated 35,000 adult carers providing unpaid, informal care. The Census 2011 indicated that 8.5% of Ealing residents provide unpaid care to a friend, relative or neighbour. Based on national research it is estimated that there may be more than 4,000 young carers aged under 18 in Ealing.
