## Summary

The University of Southampton has recently completed the procurement process for the provision of a Wafer Resistivity Prober, aimed at enhancing the capabilities of its Zepler Institute Nanofabrication Facility cleanroom. This procurement falls under the category of Laboratory, optical and precision equipment (excluding glasses) and was conducted using an open tender procedure. The contract, which has a total value of £33,590, was awarded following the tender period that ended on 21 March 2019, and the contract is set to run from 28 May 2019 until 27 May 2022. The procurement was managed electronically through the In-Tend portal, ensuring efficient communication and documentation access for all bidders involved.

This tender presents significant opportunities for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) that specialise in laboratory equipment and automation technologies. Businesses with capabilities in manufacturing or supplying precision measurement tools, particularly those that can provide automated 200mm wafer systems, will find themselves well-positioned to compete in this growing market. Engaging with the University of Southampton not only allows businesses to expand their clientele but also strengthens their portfolio by associating with a prestigious educational institution.
