The suitably qualified and experienced provider of an Occupational Health Physician will be required to provide the services described in the Tender Specification via the in-house Occupational Health Unit. The Occupational Health Unit is comprised of an Occupational Health Physician, Occupational Health Nurse Advisors, Physiotherapists and a Business Support Team. The service is managed by the Occupational Health Business Manager on a day to day basis and provides a service to the Authority's employees and a range of Public Sector partners, totalling in the region of 10,000 individuals working across a wide range of trades and professions; including manual and administrative services. The Occupational Health Unit plays a vital role in advising managers and employees in relation to health matters. The Physician service is a key component of the medical team. The provision of Physician services will be delivered working alongside the multidisciplinary Occupational Health team employed by the Authority at: The Regional Business Centre, 1 Providence Place, West Bromwich, West Midlands, B70 8SZ. Where a medical opinion is required upon a specific workplace issue some visits may be necessary. These will be within the borough of Sandwell. The Contract will be for two years from the commencement date which shall be 1 October 2017 with a possible extension of a further year, subject to satisfactory performance.
