## Summary

Birmingham City Council is seeking a supplier for the "QU208 - Bespoke Business Diagnostic Support Service," aimed at assisting home care providers that were unsuccessful in a recent tender process. This open procedure contract will provide up to 1 year of support, commencing on 10th April 2019 and concluding on 9th April 2020. The initiative is part of the Council's commitment to aid these providers in adapting their services, including exploring new market opportunities and responding to changes in their operational environments. Interested bidders needed to submit their completed documentation by noon on 4th April 2019.

Opportunities arising from this tender are particularly suited for businesses specialising in diagnostic systems and service development, targeting providers of adults' and children's social care. Companies that can offer innovative solutions or support services for home care providers will be well-positioned to engage in this market, leveraging their expertise to assist these organisations in service redesign and market expansion. The initiative highlights the potential for business growth in the social care sector, especially for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) aiming to enhance their service offerings.

## Notice

Birmingham City Council requires a supplier for the provision of a bespoke business diagnostic support service for home care providers who have been unsuccessful following a recent tender exercise. The Council has made a conscious decision to help support the unsuccessful providers (and of course the affected citizens) and therefore will be giving them a transition period up to 1 year to refocus their business to adapt to the change in their circumstances, some who may have held contracts for a number of years.. Citizens who currently receive services from these providers will have the option to continue using their providers who have not been successful under a direct payment relationship if they wish to do so. The Council is therefore proposing to commission a specialist provider to deliver business diagnostic support and service development support to providers of adults' and children's social care in Birmingham. The support will target providers who were not successful in joining the new 2019 Home Support Framework. The business support will assist the providers with looking at new market opportunities that may include use of personal budgets to fund service delivery, service re-design and new service development and delivery such as the self-funders market i.e. citizens who need care and can pay for it themselves. This contract will be for a period of 12 months commencing 10th April 2019. Registration and use of in-tend is free. All correspondence for this procurement process must be via the in-tend correspondence function. If you are unable to register with in-tend please either email us at cps@birmingham.gov.uk or call 0121 464 8000.
