## Summary

The procurement process, initiated by the Merseyside Police - Procurement Department, is seeking bids for the "Restorative Justice Services" project, classified under the Justice services industry. The tender is currently in the open stage and will accept submissions until 9 December 2019. The contract is expected to begin on 1 April 2020 and will run until 31 March 2024, with a total budget of £240,000, of which a minimum of £60,000 has been allocated. Services will be delivered in the North West region of the United Kingdom.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses in the fields of counselling, rehabilitation, and community support services. Organisations that specialise in restorative justice, victim support, and offender rehabilitation are particularly well-suited to compete, especially small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs). By engaging in this contract, businesses can contribute to important social services while fostering growth through public sector partnerships.

## Notice

The PCC for Merseyside is allocated grant funding by the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) for victims' services. The funding is anticipated to continue into 2020/21, although the level of funding will not be confirmed prior to the commencement of this tendering process. The grant will be issued to commission and/or provide and develop victims' support services, including Restorative Justice (RJ), for Merseyside. Restorative Justice (RJ) is the process of bringing together victims with those responsible for the harm, to find a positive way forward. It can provide a means of closure and enable the victim to move on. RJ also provides an opportunity for offenders to face the consequences of their actions, recognise the impact that it has had upon others and, where possible make amends. In this way, RJ has the potential to help rehabilitate offenders and enable them to stop offending.
