## Summary

Birmingham City Council is seeking contractors for the demolition and associated works of the Pershore Street Multi-storey Car Park located in Digbeth, Birmingham. This tender, part of the Smithfield redevelopment which will host events for the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, is currently in the tender stage. The submission deadline for tenders is at 12:00 GMT on Monday, 22nd February 2021, with work expected to commence in April 2021 and complete by December 2021. The contract will last for 34 weeks and will be awarded to a single supplier, emphasizing the necessity for contractors to register on the council's e-tendering portal to submit their proposals.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses in the demolition and construction sectors. Companies that specialise in demolition, site clearance, and construction-site supervision will find this contract particularly relevant. Additionally, firms with experience in managing complex site logistics and working in high-traffic urban environments will be well-suited to bid for this project. Engaging in this contract could pave the way for further opportunities within the ongoing Smithfield redevelopment project and related infrastructure initiatives in Birmingham.

## Notice

The Council wishes to establish a Contract for the demolition of a former office block and car parks in Digbeth Birmingham. The former two large multi-story car parks and Council office building form part of the Smithfield development site and this land has been earmarked for re-development, therefore identifies the need for safe demolition and site clearance. Part of the cleared site has also been selected to host a selection of key sporting events which will form part of the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games. The demolition of the car parks is to be carried out using high reach demolition machinery and parts of Manor House and Moat Lane car park will most likely require some hand demolition works given the close proximity of the building to the public highway. The contractor will be responsible for obtaining all necessary highway permits and seeking protection agreement with utility companies for buried live services that are located within close proximity of the structures and underground storm water attenuation tank. The Contract will be for a duration of 34 weeks (unless terminated under the terms and conditions of contract). It is anticipated the works will commence in April 2021 and be completed by December 2021. The contract will be awarded to a single supplier.
