## Summary

Public Health England (PHE) is seeking tenders for the provision of agar plate reading software and associated equipment for its bacteriology reference laboratories located in Colindale, London. This procurement falls under the goods category and is classified as an industry-specific software package. The expected value of this contract is £70,000, with an open procurement method allowing for wider participation. The tender period is set to conclude on 11 March 2019, with the contract's effective duration commencing from 13 March 2019 until 11 March 2022. Any potential suppliers must register on PHE's e-tendering platform and engage with the contact persons for further participation.

This tender presents substantial opportunities for businesses that specialise in laboratory equipment, software solutions, and bespoke consumables. Particularly, small and medium enterprises (SMEs) that can fulfil ISO 15189:2012 standards would be well-positioned to compete. The procurement process indicates a capital purchase alongside ongoing service requirements, suggesting that firms capable of providing long-term support and innovative solutions could benefit significantly from this contract. Participation in this tender can help businesses expand their footprint in the public health sector and contribute to advancements in antimicrobial resistance monitoring.

## Notice

Public Health England (PHE) requires the provision of an agar plate reader and associated software for its Colindale bacteriology reference laboratories. The software and equipment, which will consist of a camera, light box and image analysis software, will be used to read agar dilution plates. Although this will be a capital purchase, it is intended that any service, support and supply of bespoke consumables (if applicable) will be covered for the lifetime of the equipment or until PHE re-tenders the requirement. Any equipment and services being offered must support International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 15189: 2012 under which PHE is operating. The current requirement is for the Antimicrobial Resistance and Healthcare Associated Infections (AMRHAI) Reference Unit based in Colindale, London. However, PHE has key sites located throughout the UK and new requirements could be identified during the course of this contract. (Please note that PHE's organisational structure is currently undergoing a transformation and as such new locations may be added or deleted during the course of this contract.) If you feel that you can meet the above requirements, please register on our e-tendering platform https://phe.bravosolution.co.uk/web/login.shtml and email kallie.rivers@phe.gov.uk or anna.gibson@phe.gov.uk so that you can be added to the tender.
