## Summary

Essex County Council has completed the tendering process for the 1022 - Additional Reablement Capacity and Home-to-Assess Care Services 2024 project. This health and social work services contract, valued at £30,000,000, aims to enhance intermediate care provision across England. The contract has been divided among several suppliers to cover five distinct geographical areas within the county. The procurement followed an open procedure and had a tender period ending on 4th June 2024. Key dates include the contract start on 12th September 2024, running until 11th September 2027. This initiative is part of a broader effort to enhance collaborative intermediate care services in collaboration with NHS Partners.

This tender presents significant growth opportunities for SMEs in the health and social care sector, particularly those specialising in reablement and community care services. By being part of a large-scale, geographically-diverse project, businesses can not only ensure service delivery excellence but also expand their operational footprint within Essex. Companies experienced in providing short-term support within community settings or post-hospital admission care will find this contract particularly suited to their expertise. Being aligned with an influential local authority such as Essex County Council also provides invaluable exposure and networking opportunities within the sector.

## Notice

Essex County Council works with NHS Partners to jointly commission services which make up the Intermediate Care pathway, for people requiring short-term support within the community or following hospital admission, including reablement. Referrals to ECC's Intermediate Care services can be via discharge teams in acute hospitals, or from the community to support hospital admission avoidance. To ensure ongoing availability of this service, the Council will be tendering for the delivery of reablement services to support the core service delivery from our Local Authority Company. The Additional Reablement Capacity contracts, known as ARC, will address further service demands across the county, divided into 5 distinct geographical locations. Significant efforts have been made to enhance intermediate care services across the county. This includes aligning contracts and fostering collaboration. Additionally, a dedicated project has been initiated to shape the future of Intermediate Care in Essex.
