The objectives of the equipment are summarized as follows: * To be able to measure friction in orthopaedic bearings, principally hip and knee replacements. * To be able to measure torque in orthopaedic bearings, principally hip and knee replacements. * To be able to obtain friction and torque data of a period of time to monitor behaviour of simulated several months or years of use. * To be able to store data for use and analysis later on in other software.
