## Summary

The National Coal Mining Museum for England Trust Ltd is initiating a procurement process for the "Quinquennial Conditions Inspection Report for All Heritage and Surface Buildings". This opportunity falls under the architectural, construction, engineering and inspection services category, located at Caphouse Colliery, Wakefield (WF4 4RH). The current stage of the procurement is in the planning phase, with a budget of £8,000 allocated for the period from April 1, 2018, to March 31, 2019. Interested parties should note that the communication of the future notice will occur on April 16, 2018.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in heritage building inspections, particularly those that can provide comprehensive condition reports, including detailed photographic documentation and prioritisation recommendations. Suitable competitors may include SMEs with expertise in architectural and engineering services, especially those familiar with managing projects involving visitor interactions in heritage sites. Proposals that incorporate innovative solutions, whether manual or technologically driven, are encouraged, providing a pathway for growth in the niche market of heritage conservation within the public sector.

## Notice

The National Coal Mining Museum for England is aware of the need to manage and maintain all our heritage buildings and ensure the overground conditions at Caphouse Colliery and Hope Pit are suitable to the objectives of the Museum itself. In line with our objectives we will look to appoint a contractor to develop a condition report on all buildings within the museum site. The condition report should include detailed documented photographs, recommendations, a record of priorities for each attached recommendation and indicative costings where appropriate and available. As the site is part of the National Coal Mining Museum for England visitors and guests may be on site so any solution must bear that in mind. We will welcome proposals involving either manual or technological driven solutions with the intention that the more favoured solution would likely form the basis of our decision making process going forward. We invite suppliers, contractors and interested organisations to advise us as to costs, expected achievements and translation estimates - grounded in factual analysis and projections - of what could be expected through any inspection thus undertaken.
