## Summary

The recent procurement process initiated by Stonewater Limited focuses on "IT Infrastructure Support" within the network infrastructure industry. The tender is currently in the active stage, with the deadline for bids set for 10th May 2019. This project entails appointing a single supplier to manage and optimise services including VMWare, Windows Server, and Cisco products across various locations including the United Kingdom and other overseas territories. The contract period is scheduled to begin on 2nd September 2019 and will extend until 1st September 2022, with a total estimated value of £200,000.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses specialising in IT services, particularly those with expertise in network infrastructure management and maintenance. Companies capable of delivering third and fourth line support for technical systems, alongside experience in handling Cisco and related technologies, will be well-positioned to compete. Additionally, firms that can demonstrate efficiency, economy, and effectiveness in their service delivery may find this tender advantageous for expanding their client base and enhancing their reputation within the public sector.

## Notice

The aim of this tender exercise is for Stonewater to appoint a single supplier to assist with the optimisation of required services (VMWare, Windows Server, Active Directory, Citrix, Netscaler SDX, Palo Alto Firewalls, LT and Cisco telephony and Call Centre (Finesse), Switching switching). In addition, this supplier will manage all maintenance requirements of the networking equipment and Cisco products within the Datacentres and offices (patching and firmware upgrades) and providing necessary reports to support the service. Stonewater also expects the appointed supplier to be able to provide fourth line support for all Operating Systems and hardware against agreed service levels. The supplier will be expected to assist the infrastructure team with identified projects, as and when required, including elements of design, implementation and associated documentation however these do not form part of the existing support contract and will be costed separately. They will also conduct regular audits to ensure Stonewater stays within best practice with AD, O365 and CIS standards. There is also a requirement for monitoring hardware status and the support of existing monitoring software; Stonewater currently utilises Splunk, SolarWinds and has the desire to leverage these applications for dashboards and reports, i.e. WSUS, AD, Anti-Virus etc. During any formal tender procedure, Stonewater seeks to achieve the best value with any potential supplier. This is achieved through the 3 E's (Economy, Efficiency and Effectiveness), as explained below: Economy - This is the price paid (the impact on people as well as actual money spent) for providing a service at best value, taking price and quality into account. Efficiency - This is a measure of productivity - how much you get out in relation to what you put in. It is the efficiency of converting resources (inputs) into results (outputs). Effectiveness - This measures the impact of obtaining value for money. It can be quantitative (the amount of effectiveness) or qualitative (the value of effectiveness).
