Providers with experience in developing educational content for various audiences—including healthcare professionals, educators, and parents—will find this contract particularly well-suited to their capabilities. The need for a centralised hub for reliable training materials presents a unique market space for organisations that can deliver comprehensive and impactful e-learning resources to support the training of professionals in recognising and addressing eating disorders.

## Notice

Health Education England (HEE - the Commissioner) are putting out this notice as a PIN (Prior Information Notice) with a view to completing a Direct Award. Please note the contracting authority intends to direct award the contract to MindEd part of the Royal College of Psychiatrists. The case for direct award can be found on the tender portal. There has been a significant increase in the number of cases of eating disorders in both children and young people (CYP) and adults and older people (AOP) in the last year. There is an urgent need to increase awareness of eating disorders across all sectors. The COVID-19 pandemic has heightened cases of eating disorders across CYP and AOP and has exacerbated barriers to patients in receiving care, resulting in three times more children and young people at the end of 2020 awaiting treatment for an eating disorder in comparison to the end of 2019. The workforce requires further training to be equipped with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to provide early interventions and assessments of patients presenting with signs of an eating disorder. There are several e-learning sessions (focused on eating disorders) already available but are provided by different organisations and sectors and are therefore not easy to locate. Health Education England requires a central hub that houses appropriate, reliable, trusted, and evidence-based training content of eating disorders within, children and young people, and adult and older people. MindEd is a free educational resource on children, young people, adults, and older people's mental health. MindEd has e-learning applicable across health, social care, education, criminal justice, and community settings. Their existing e-learning material is aimed at professionals, volunteers, parents, carers, and the public. MindEd already offer seven e-learning sessions focusing on eating disorders, which were written by experts in mental health in children and young people aged 0-18 years. This includes information aimed specifically at parents, entry level mental health professionals, and members of the public. The financial envelope for the contract is PS51,472.08 For the Specification, Contract and the Case for Direct Award please access the portal at: https://health-family-contract-search.secure.force.com/?SearchType=Projects Please access the portal for all documents.
