The drilling rig to be inspected is a Bentec 450mt Eurorig that is being supplied by MND Drilling & Services Inc., based in the Czech Republic, through BDF, based in the UK. At the Eden Project site, the rig will be powered by its own diesel generators. A summary of the rig specification is provided in the tender documents. . The rig is currently stacked in MND's yard in the Czech Republic prior to mobilisation to the UK. The mobilisation to the site at the Eden Project is scheduled to commence in late February 2021, with a view to spudding in early March. . EGL require independent verification of the rig's regulatory compliance, equipment operability, inspection regime and suitability for the proposed drilling contract in the UK. The aim is to ensure that rig machinery and equipment meet all functionality, reliability and serviceability criteria. . The inspection must be conducted professionally in accordance with industry standards that are appropriate to, and acceptable in, the UK, as well as to the specific requirements of EGL. The inspections must be undertaken by person(s) with the relevant and appropriate experience and qualifications. .
