NICE requires the provision of services to support the development of new NICE indicators. The Indicator programme develops outcome measures that reflect the quality of care, or process measures linked by evidence to improve outcomes. All NICE indicators are developed according to a robust development process and are used in a number of national indicator frameworks focused on different parts of the health service including the Quality and Outcomes Framework, the Clinical Commissioning Group Improvement and Assessment Framework.
