## Summary

The Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council is seeking a supplier for a Security Incident and Event Monitoring (SIEM) system, aimed at enhancing the IT monitoring capabilities across all council systems and infrastructure. This procurement falls under the IT services category and is taking place in the North East of the United Kingdom. The procurement process has reached the Award stage, with the contract valued at £36,603. The contract period spans from 30th June 2017 to 29th June 2020, following a tender period that concluded on 27th June 2017.

This contract presents significant opportunities for businesses specializing in IT services, particularly those involved in software development, monitoring solutions, and cybersecurity. Companies equipped to offer a comprehensive monitoring solution that can proactively identify and mitigate risks to IT systems would be well-suited to engage in this tender. By successfully competing for this contract, businesses can expand their portfolio and establish a long-term partnership with a local government authority.

## Notice

We are seeking to put in place a single central system that monitors all areas of Council IT systems and infrastructure. This will allow all teams within IT to have a solution that monitors activity and identifies any potential system risk. The solution will provide alerting to allow a more responsive capability to the IT service to protect Council services and data. In some cases, it may be possible to have an "early warning" to a potential attack or misuse of Council IT systems and use the information provided to take evasive action to prevent any or further damage to IT systems or data loss.
