## Summary

The University of Exeter is seeking a provider for the "Provision of a Travel & Trace Solution" as part of its Covid-19 response initiative. This procurement is in the Award stage, having been announced on 27th June 2022. The contract, valued at £70,900, will cater primarily to the Software package and information systems industry, specifically within the South West region of the United Kingdom. The contract period commenced on 10th May 2022 and runs until 9th May 2025, establishing a structured travel process crucial for ensuring the safety of travelling staff and students.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses specialising in software development and travel management solutions. Companies capable of offering innovative tracing systems and comprehensive business travel services would be particularly well-suited to compete for future similar contracts. The involvement in such a vital service not only enhances a company's portfolio but also aligns with the growing demand for robust travel management solutions in a post-pandemic environment.

## Notice

As part of the Covid-19 response, establishing the location of internationally travelling staff and students was key to identifying at risk individuals in order to provide support to return to the UK/to home countries, or to provide remote support where this was not possible. This has driven the requirement for a more robust travel process to enable a quick and coordinated response to any future incident. Our vision is to have a high profile travel and trace solution, working across Professional Services to offer security, safety and emergency management as a single point of information for all travellers. The centralised solution will ensure all UK and international travel is registered by policy, with responsibility and accountability defined, and booking unable to progress without confirmation of (a) authorisation to travel, (b) health and safety risk assessment completed and approved, and (c) confirmation that insurance will be in place.
