## Summary

The House of Commons, acting through Parliament UK, is conducting a tender for the "GSV1923 - Mini Public Events" initiative. This project aims to establish and run a Citizens' Assembly focused on combatting climate change, providing valuable insights to inform public policy and political discussions. The procurement process, classified under market research services, is currently in the Tender stage, with submissions due by 12.00 noon UK time on 22nd July 2019. The total budget for this contract is £119,000, and the project will be delivered in London, with a contract period from 1st August 2019 to 31st July 2020, following an open procurement method above the threshold.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses in the research and consultancy sectors, particularly those specialising in public engagement and environmental policy. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs) are encouraged to participate, as their insights could greatly contribute to the Citizens' Assembly's findings. Companies capable of facilitating public dialogues and gathering diverse opinions on climate-related issues will be well-suited to compete for this contract, enabling them to play a critical role in shaping future policy while expanding their business footprint.

## Notice

The House of Commons is seeking a supplier to establish and run a Citizens' Assembly on the topic of combatting climate change. The findings of the Citizens' Assembly are intended to provide an evidence base of informed public views on the range of different policy and consumer choices outlined in the recent report by the Committee on Climate Change (an independent statutory body) on achieving the target of net zero carbon emissions by 2050. Exploring views on the fair sharing of potential costs of different policy choices will be a valuable input to future select committee activity and, more broadly, inform political debate and Government policy making.
