## Summary

Derbyshire County Council has recently awarded a contract for the supply of software licences and associated services, focusing on an internally hosted social care case management solution for its Children's Services and Adult Care departments. The contract was published on 5th May 2017, with the procurement process having been conducted through an open procedure. The implementation of this solution is anticipated to start in May 2017, requiring the initial delivery of 8 Oracle WebLogic Server Standard Edition perpetual licences. The contract period spans from 26th June 2017 to 25th June 2024, with a total value of £130,000, and an option to extend for an additional 2 years.

This procurement presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in IT services, specifically those offering software development, licensing, and ongoing support. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, charity, and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations are well-suited to compete for this contract due to the scope for additional services and products that may arise over the contract period. As the Council may require further Oracle licences throughout the contract's duration, this opens avenues for growth and collaboration in providing comprehensive IT solutions to local government entities.

## Notice

The Council has recently awarded a contract for an internally hosted single social care case management solution for its Children's Services and Adult Care departments. The Council's Transformation Service anticipates that implementation of the social care case management solution will commence in May 2017. The social care case management solution is to be hosted on Council managed equipment and requires Oracle WebLogic Server Standard Edition (initially version 11g R2), which is capable of being upgraded during the life of the Contract. The Council, therefore, requires perpetual licences and annual support for a period of 5 years, with options to extend annually for an additional 2 years. The Council anticipates that these licences will be required in June 2017. The Council initially requires 8 on-premise Oracle WebLogic Server Standard Edition - Processor Perpetual Licences (CPU), based on the 0.5 Oracle Core Processor Licensing Factor. The Council may need to purchase additional Oracle licences over the life of the Contract.
