The main focus of the Skills and Employment team is tackling unemployment and particularly long term unemployment across the borough. During 2018/19, a large proportion of our funding will be targeted for delivery through external organisations to support outcomes for adults aged 19+ who face a range of challenges/barriers to securing sustainable employment. Throughout 2018 -19 we will be commissioning provision that will provide adults with the skills, support and confidence to enable them to secure employment or progress to further learning. We also want to support people in low paid work to improve their skills and progress at work.
