## Summary

Staffordshire County Council is commissioning an Integrated Advocacy Service focused on statutory advocacy for eligible individuals across Staffordshire. The services required include Independent Advocacy under the Care Act 2014, Independent Advocacy for Prisoners, Independent Mental Capacity Advocacy, Independent Mental Health Advocacy, and Independent Health Complaints Advocacy Service. The procurement process is at the "award" stage, with the initial advertisement published on 27 August 2021 and the contract period running from 1 April 2022 to 31 March 2026. The contract's estimated value is £2,213,120 GBP. The tender was procured via an open tender process, with the engagement of SMEs and VCSEs highly encouraged. The contract was awarded to ASIST, a recognised SME and VCSE, with an awarded contract value of up to £2,551,214.54 GBP due to contract variation adjustments.

This procurement provides an excellent growth opportunity for businesses that specialise in health and social work services, particularly those with the capability to deliver a wide range of advocacy services in an integrated manner. Companies that can provide a single point of access model, utilise digital tools, promote independence, and leverage community resources and volunteers will likely find this contract advantageous. The encouragement for consortia and partnerships makes it especially suitable for businesses keen to collaborate to deliver comprehensive service packages thus enhancing their market presence and operational scope within the public sector.
