## Summary

The West Midlands Combined Authority has concluded the award stage of a public procurement process for the Midland Metro Limited (MML) Track Framework Agreement. This procurement, classified under the Track construction works category, aims to supply a range of track work services across the West Midlands, UK, over a four-year period starting from 1st March 2024 to 29th February 2028. Midland Metro Limited, a subsidiary wholly owned by the West Midlands Combined Authority, awarded the contract to Haigh Rail Limited, a supplier based in Lancashire. The procurement utilised an open procedure above threshold, ensuring a fair and transparent selection process. The contract's total value is set at £4,200,000, with an allocation mechanism based on quotes and pre-agreed rates, adhering to the NEC4 Engineering framework.

This significant tender offers numerous opportunities for business growth, particularly for SMEs specialising in track construction and maintenance. The framework agreement allows for the call-off of a variety of track projects, including gauge restoration and rail replacement, underpinned by a robust NEC4 contractual structure. Businesses experienced in such fields would be well-positioned to contribute to, and benefit from, this framework by delivering projects that are critical to the efficient operation and maintenance of the West Midlands Metro infrastructure.
