## Summary

Cheshire West and Chester Borough Council is seeking solutions through a soft market testing process for a social intranet software solution aimed at enhancing collaboration among its workforce, which includes 3,043 council staff, 70 councillors, and about 2,800 personnel from council-owned companies. The procurement falls under the IT services category, specifically consulting, software development, and support, with the tender published on 22nd October 2020. Interested vendors are required to submit their applications along with product overviews, mandatory criteria compliance, and cost details by the closing date of 11th November 2020, at 10am. The contract period is set to begin on 25th January 2021 and will extend until 24th January 2026.

This tender presents a prime opportunity for businesses specialising in off-the-shelf software solutions, particularly those with expertise in intranet and collaboration technologies. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs) are encouraged to participate, given the Council's focus on ensuring the solution meets specific mandatory requirements. Successful bidders will offer a product that can enhance communication and knowledge sharing within the organisation, making this an ideal venture for firms that can provide innovative, scalable solutions to meet the needs of a modern, dispersed workforce.
