## Summary

The Southend-on-sea Borough Council is seeking tenders for the "Dr Bike programme for the South Essex Active Travel Project," classified under recreational, cultural, and sporting services. This initiative aims to appoint a provider to conduct bicycle safety checks and simple repairs at various venues across South Essex. The contract is scheduled to commence on 1st July 2018 and will conclude on 31st March 2020. The tender period closed on 15th June 2018, with a total budget of £40,000, procured through a limited method via competitive quotations, focusing on local community enhancement.

This tender presents an excellent opportunity for small to medium enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary/community sector organisations (VCSE) specialising in cycling services, maintenance, or community outreach. Businesses that can offer qualified mechanics, excellent communication skills, and logistical planning abilities will be well-positioned to participate. Being involved in this project could enhance their reputations within the community while contributing to public health and environmental sustainability initiatives.
