The overarching principle of NUHCTS is that patients who are eligible for transport will receive safe, timely and comfortable transport, without detriment to their medical condition. The current guidance underpinning this service specification is that issued by the Department of Health in 2007. Patients will be collected promptly, within key performance indicators (KPIs) timescales. A service that is patient centric, treating patients with courtesy, dignity and respect at all times. The service provider shall demonstrate a commitment to reduce carbon emissions and the carbon footprint of service users journeys where possible.
