## Summary

Sheffield Hallam University is seeking a solution for their Disabled Student Support (DSS) Appointments Management System, with a tender currently in the planning stage. The procurement process follows an open procedure, and the tender was published on 4th July 2017. Companies interested in this contract should note that the tender period ends on 17th July 2017, with a contract expected to commence on 1st September 2017 and run until 31st August 2019. The estimated value of the contract is between £50,000 and £100,000, and the project’s classification falls under Software Package and Information Systems in the services category, specifically targeting the Yorkshire and Humber region.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for software developers and consultancy firms, particularly those specialising in systems for educational institutions or disability services. Businesses, especially small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary community social enterprises (VCSEs), are encouraged to consider this project as it requires an off-the-shelf solution with minimal configuration, or bespoke development that can be delivered on a tight timeline. Engaging with a project that enhances support for disabled students at Sheffield Hallam University aligns with both social impact and innovation objectives, potentially positioning suppliers as key partners in inclusive education initiatives.

## Notice

The Support Worker Service delivers support services to students who are eligible for Disability Support whilst studying at Sheffield Hallam University (SHU). The team is responsible for ensuring support is provided to students for both timetabled and non-timetabled activities and involves scheduling support workers, managing bookings and communicating to students and support workers. SHU is interested in an off the shelf solution which requires minimum configuration but is open to a bespoke development which meets our requirements. The bespoke development would need to be completed, tested and deployed within a relatively short timescale however so this needs to be kept in mind. SHU needs a system that allows us to maintain student and support worker records and use that data to facilitate effective support for appointments. This will ideally enable end users and support workers to interact with the solution via a web front-end.
