The midden will enable students studying agriculture based courses to experience best practice in farmyard manure storage as well as ensuring the Riseholme Farm is compliant with environmental regulations, avoiding ground water pollution. The midden's proposed dimensions are 407m2, 30m long x 14.5m wide, with a 6m height at the eaves. Planning permission has been submitted and the determination date is likely to be during August 2024. The University anticipates that the programme is likely to be c. 4-6 weeks, however, the full programme will be agreed with the successful contractor. The University anticipates that the Works will commence in October 2024 (subject to planning).
