## Summary

Bedford Borough Council (BBC) is seeking a single Charge Point Operator to deliver and maintain electric vehicle charging infrastructure across the borough from 2025 to 2040. This project, titled "The Supply of Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure and Associated Services 2025-2040," falls under the installation of cable infrastructure industry category. The tender, published on 20th February 2025, is currently in the tender amendment stage. It involves installing, connecting, commissioning, operating, and maintaining a minimum of 512 new electric vehicle charging sockets at various locations within the Borough, aiming to benefit residents without off-street parking. The procurement follows an open procedure and potential suppliers must submit their bids by 1st June 2025. The contract commences on 6th October 2025 and concludes on 5th October 2040. The project is located in the East of England, with specific delivery addresses including those within postal code MK42 9AP.

This tender presents significant business growth opportunities, particularly for companies specializing in electric vehicle infrastructure, renewable energy solutions, and urban development. Businesses capable of providing a full turnkey solution—encompassing supply, installation, maintenance, and operation—are well-suited to compete for this contract. The requirement to match council investment with private funding adds an incentive for organisations with strong investment partnerships and innovative financing models. Additionally, companies looking to expand their market presence in the East of England or those seeking long-term projects will find this contract particularly attractive. Given the project's emphasis on community benefits and environmental sustainability, firms with a proven track record in these areas will have a competitive advantage.
