## Summary

The Historic England National Heritage Protection Commissions is seeking tenders for the "7331 Historic Environment Essentials Programme: Online Resources & Training Courses." This procurement falls within the services category, specifically focusing on research and development services related to heritage management. The procurement process, currently in the Tender stage, employs a restricted procedure and has a deadline for submissions set for 27th November 2015. The contract is set to commence on 25th January 2016 and will run for three years, concluding on 30th January 2019. The services will be delivered primarily in South West, United Kingdom, with an estimated contract value of £300,000 and a minimum value of £90,000.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses in the education and training sector, particularly those that specialise in heritage, urban planning, and consultancy services. Companies that offer expertise in developing training resources and courses aimed at non-heritage professionals will be well-positioned to compete. With a commitment to providing over 1,400 training places and a variety of online resources, successful suppliers could greatly enhance their visibility and relevance in the heritage management field, thereby fostering business growth.

## Notice

There are considerable numbers of local authority staff from non-heritage professions such as planners and development control officers whose work affects the management of heritage. With the heritage sector facing considerable economic pressures it is important that awareness of heritage issues is developed amongst this group and that free training is provided to ensure they understand the implications of these issues and who they can work with to ensure that heritage is effectively managed. The Historic England Commission has emphasised the importance of increasing awareness of heritage issues amongst those making planning decisions at a high-level. This three year project will be delivered in two lots which comprise 1. an annual programme of training courses, and 2. a range of online training resources. Both lots are aimed at developing the knowledge and skills of non-heritage professionals, or career entry heritage professionals in local authorities, on heritage policy, legislation and management. A successful project would deliver over the three year period, in lot 1 at least 1400 free training places to the sector, and 230 places for Historic England staff and in Lot 2 at least 10 online training resources in varied mediums.
