## Summary

The Waste & Resources Action Programme is inviting tenders for a project titled "Infrastructure Capacity for Recycling" (PMP009-002) based in Banbury, UK. This initiative aims to assess the implications of improved recyclable collections on materials sorting capacity and reprocessing requirements. The tender, classified under 'Recycling plant site investigation' within the services industry, is currently in the active procurement stage with a deadline for submissions on 31 August 2016. The estimated contract value ranges from £50,000 to £100,000, and the contract period is set to commence on 14 September 2016, concluding on 8 March 2017. The procurement method used is the open procedure.

This tender represents a significant growth opportunity for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary community sector enterprises (VCSEs) that specialise in environmental management and recycling services. Businesses with expertise in waste management, sustainable resource solutions, or recycling technology are particularly well-suited to compete for this contract. By participating, these firms can enhance their service offerings and expand their market presence within the evolving environmental sector, particularly in light of increasing demands for recycling capacities across the UK.

## Notice

WRAP has undertaken modelling to determine the impact of moving to more consistent recyclable collections. This focusses on a set of core materials (paper, card, metals, glass, plastics and food waste) that would be collected from kerbside schemes across England and a limited number of collection approaches. The framework and vision for greater consistency and supporting analysis and business case are due to be made available by autumn 2016. If these have not been published at the commencement of this project the successful bidder will be provided with a copy of each. The aim of the work is to take the outputs of the modelling of household recyclables and ascertain the implications for materials sorting capacity and reprocessing requirements in the future Additional information: The contracting authority considers that this contract may be suitable for economic operators that are small or medium enterprises (SMEs). However, any selection of tenderers will be based solely on the criteria set out for the procurement.
