## Summary

The United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority is currently seeking a supplier for HPC debugging software through an open procurement process. This tender, titled "HPC DEBUGGING SOFTWARE," falls under the services category and focuses on developing reliable debugging tools for scalable computing codes used on high-performance computing (HPC) systems. The tender was published on 27th January 2021, with a closing date for submissions set for 8th February 2021. The contract is anticipated to commence on 9th February 2021 and conclude on 10th February 2022. Delivery is expected in the South East region of the United Kingdom, with a contract value ranging from £45,000 to £60,000.

This procurement presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in software development, particularly those experienced in debugging practices for MPI, OpenMP, or hybrid coding frameworks. Firms with expertise in optimising software for HPC environments and multi-threading applications would be particularly well-suited to participate in this tender. Additionally, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are encouraged to apply, given the authority's support for their involvement in the procurement process.

## Notice

Many of the scalable codes we use are based on MPI, Open-MP or both, or even just using multi-threaded single nodes, and will run on many different architectures (CPUs from ARM and Intel, GPUs from nVidia and AMD, etc) with many different storage systems (e.g. Lustre, BeeGFS, Gluster, CEPH) and on many nodes on an HPC system. Some MPI based applications scale up to thousands of cores and dozens of nodes. Ideally we would want to be able scale to this level but the initial ambition is to be able to run the software on the local HPC cluster which has 4 nVidia P100 nodes and 40x36 core intel x86 nodes. We are seeking software that supports both debugging of MPI, OpenMP or hybrid codes and code optimisation
