The service required is fully outlined in the Specification (Document 3). Briefly, the Authorities operate co-mingled kerbside dry recycling services and are looking for a contractor to sort and recycle all of the dry recycling materials they collect. The bid is divided into two lots; Lot 1 includes the transport, sorting and recycling of the co-mingled materials and Lot 2 (A & B) comprises the operation of at least two transfer stations including acceptance of the materials, bulking and loading onto vehicles provided by the bidder of Lot 1. The Authorities intend to enter into a contract for a period of 2 years from 27 February 2018 with the option, purely at the discretion of the Authorities to extend the contract by up to 2 years + a further 2 years after this. The Authority intends to enter into a 2-year contract(s) from 27th February 2018 with the option, solely to the discretion of the Authorities to extend the contract by up 2 years, plus an additional 2 years. Therefore the total length of the contract that could be grated is up to 6 years (2+2+2).
