## Summary

The University of Sunderland has completed the procurement process for a Hydraulic and Pneumatic Training Rig as part of its Sustainable Advanced Manufacturing Project, funded at £5.1 million. This project aims to support product and process development for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the North East local enterprise partnership area. The procurement was conducted through an open procedure, with the tender period having ended on 28th August 2018. The contract spans from 30th September 2018 to 30th September 2020, aiming to enhance the training capabilities in industrial machinery within the region.

This procurement presents substantial opportunities for SMEs in the industrial machinery sector, particularly those specialising in hydraulic and pneumatic technology. Businesses that can deliver advanced training equipment, including comprehensive design and fault-finding software, maintenance packages, and effective training materials, would be ideally positioned to compete. Additionally, with funds aimed at developing new products and expanding market access for regional suppliers, this tender paves the way for sustainable business growth in the North East.
